Lower Peirce Reservoir – Brisk Walks & Monkey Business

One of my go-to places for a brisk walk surrounded by nature — Lower Peirce Reservoir always delivers with its calm waters, shady trails, and peaceful vibes. It’s a great spot to clear your mind without straying too far from the city.
But a quick heads-up for anyone visiting: you’ll likely encounter monkeys along the trails. They may look cute, but please don’t feed them. Feeding them not only disrupts their natural foraging behavior, but it also makes them more aggressive and dependent on human food — which isn’t good for them or us.
Keep your snacks sealed, walk calmly, and enjoy the scenery. It’s nature at its best — as long as we respect the space.
