Singapore Review: Eat, Walk, Heart Full, Belly Full

Singapore Review: Eat, Walk, Heart Full, Belly Full🇲🇨

Hello everyone! Today, we’re taking you on a stress-free trip to Singapore. No rush, focusing mainly on eating, some sightseeing, and a little shopping (but mostly eating). Let’s call this trip “A journey to fill the belly and heart, ending with bubble tea.”

We spent 4 days and 3 nights in Singapore. It was tiring, fun, and super delicious. Every day involved so much walking our legs almost gave out, but as soon as we saw the food, all the tiredness disappeared.

Day 1: Hello Singapore & First Bubble Tea

Arriving at Changi Airport, we already felt like “we’re going to eat a lot” because even the airport is full of food stalls! But we gritted our teeth and walked past them to head straight into the city to check in before diving into the real feast.

We stayed around Bugis, a must-visit area for food lovers!! After unpacking, our first stop was the famous Hainanese Chicken Rice at Maxwell Food Centre. We ate at Tian Tian Chicken Rice—tender chicken with fragrant rice and a delicious dipping sauce. So good, mom! The price was reasonable, about 5-6 SGD, just the right amount to fill up.

After that, we strolled around Chinatown, took photos at the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, which had a great atmosphere, and ended the day with our favorite bubble tea from HEYTEA at Marina Bay Sands. It was super crowded, but we still really wanted to drink it.

Day 2: Cafe Mode & Hawker Food Adventure

We woke up a bit late today to take it easy. We started the day at a cafe in Tiong Bahru called Tiong Bahru Bakery. The croissants were amazing! Crispy on the outside, soft inside, perfect with a latte. Sipping coffee and watching locals gave us the feeling of being a true Singaporean.

Then we wandered around the area, which has old bookstores, art shops, handmade goods—so cute! We weren’t focused on buying but just enjoyed looking around happily.

For lunch, we headed to Lau Pa Sat, another famous hawker center. We had big sticks of satay dipped in peanut sauce, which felt like being at a night market back home. Then we ordered Char Kway Teow, Singapore-style stir-fried noodles packed with scallops. Oh my, it was so fragrant and delicious it brought tears to our eyes.

At night, we walked around Gardens by the Bay to see the Super Tree Grove light show—spectacular and free! Then we stopped for ice cream at McDonald’s (they have a special Singapore flavor—mango is the best).

Day 3: Light Shopping & More Street Food

This morning, we pushed ourselves to wake up early to go to Orchard Road for some light mall walking. We weren’t planning to shop much but wanted to soak in the luxurious atmosphere a bit. For lunch, we ate at Din Tai Fung. It’s not street food, but we love their xiao long bao—thin skin, soup bursting out, you have to be careful biting into them!

In the afternoon, we explored Haji Lane, a must-visit area! It has trendy clothing stores, coffee shops, handmade goods, and cool fragrance shops. Most importantly, the graffiti walls are beautiful and perfect for photos all day long.

Tonight, no fancy dining. We returned to reality at Old Airport Road Food Centre, a legendary food hub. We had Fried Hokkien Mee—chewy noodles with fragrant broth and big prawns. One plate almost made us cry because it was so delicious.

Day 4: Fresh Morning Before Heading Home

On the last day before flying back, we took a chill walk around Little India. We had a light Indian breakfast—roti and strong Indian coffee—and bought some souvenirs nearby.

Before heading to the airport, we didn’t forget to buy some souvenirs at Changi and had a big Kaya Toast set as a farewell meal, with two soft-boiled eggs drizzled with soy sauce. It felt so good, like saying goodbye to Singapore with a smile (and a slightly bigger belly).

Summary: Singapore is a small city with a big belly!

Singapore may be a small country, but its deliciousness is huge. Whether it’s chicken rice, bubble tea, stir-fried noodles, cute cafes, or Indian food, it has a unique charm that makes us say, “We’ll definitely come back.”

If you want a trip that’s not tiring, no mountain climbing, no waterfall trekking, but still lets you eat great food, take beautiful photos, and stroll around feeling like a minimalist city local, we highly recommend “Singapore” with all our hearts!
