Zhujiajian, China's international sand sculpture hometown and an AAAA-rated tourist attraction, is renowned for its natural sand and stone landscape, combining sand, stone, sea, and Buddhist scenery. The island boasts rolling golden sands, rippling blue waves, towering rocks, interspersed caves and reefs, seagulls flying, and whitebait chasing the waves. Located in the southeastern part of the Zhoushan Archipelago in Zhejiang Province, Zhujiajian, along with Mount Putuo, known as the "Buddhist Kingdom of Sea and Sky," is a nationally recognized key scenic spot. Zhujiajian Island is the fifth largest island in the Zhoushan Archipelago and offers captivating scenery.
Zhujiajian is most famous for its beaches. Recognized by the International Sand Sculpture Organization as one of the world's finest beaches for both sand quality and scenery, Zhujiajian's sand quality and scenery far surpass those of the Hawaiian Islands, one of the world's leading summer resorts. Shili Jinsha boasts East China's largest sandy beach complex, comprising nine beaches: Qingsha, Lisha, Qiansha, Nansha, and Dongsha.

While advance booking is not mandatory, it is recommended to book tickets online during peak tourist seasons or weekends to avoid long queues. Booking a few days in advance should suffice, but it is always good to check availability closer to your travel dates.
You will need at least 4-5 hours to explore Zhujiajian fully, including visiting the scenic spots, beaches, and hiking trails. If you plan to enjoy water sports or take boat tours, you may need additional time.
Guided tours are available at Zhujiajian Scenic Area, with Mandarin-speaking guides. Audio guides are also available in Mandarin, and sometimes English, depending on availability. It is recommended to check in advance if you require an English-speaking guide.
Currently, there are no night visits or light shows available at Zhujiajian. The area is primarily a daytime destination, known for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere during the day.
Zhujiajian is relatively accessible for elderly and children, though some hiking trails may be challenging. The beaches and public areas are generally wheelchair accessible, but visitors with mobility issues should check for specific access points before visiting.
Mobile payments (like Alipay and WeChat Pay) are widely accepted. Cash is also acceptable, but credit cards may not always be accepted, so it’s advisable to carry cash or use mobile payment apps.
Vegetarian options are available at many of the local restaurants. Vegan and halal options may be more limited, but some restaurants cater to dietary restrictions, especially in Zhoushan city center.
