Singapore Review: This Trip Was All About Eating, a Little Sightseeing, and Lots of Walking, Sweating but Feeling So Happy 🇲🇨
Hello everyone! Here’s our Singapore trip review where we went purely to eat—no hiking, no boat rides, just leisurely walks, beautiful photos, and indulging in delicious food every meal! Honestly, this trip wasn’t about losing weight. I’m totally fine with my clothes feeling tight when I get back!
We spent 4 days and 3 nights, traveling casually with one girlfriend. The plan wasn’t strict, but the motto was clear: “Eat every meal, no skipping.”

Day 1: We’ve arrived in Singapore! Ready to dive into food from the very first second.
As soon as we landed at Changi Airport, we were like, wow! What kind of airport feels like a cafe and a mall all in one? We even stopped to buy some snacks before hopping on the MRT to the city to check into our hotel. We stayed near Bugis because it’s easy to get around, has tons of food options, and offers both street food and cafes.
Right after unpacking, we headed straight to Maxwell Food Centre to try the legendary Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice. The chicken was so tender, the rice fragrant with chicken fat, and the sauce made it melt in your mouth. One word: “Worth the hype.” Don’t forget to order the soup to go with it—it’s a perfect match.
After we were full, we strolled around Chinatown, browsed shops, and took photos at the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, which is beautifully traditional Chinese style and gives such a great vibe. Before heading back to the hotel, we stopped by HEYTEA for another round of drinks to satisfy our sweet tooth. Their milk tea is rich, fragrant, and refreshing—perfect for sweet lovers.

Day 2: Art Cafes – Street Hawker Food
We woke up relaxed and planned to visit the Tiong Bahru neighborhood, known for its many cafes and a subtle artistic vibe. We started at Tiong Bahru Bakery, where the croissants are crispy outside, soft inside, and buttery—perfect with a hot latte to kick off the day. A little further, there are old bookstores, handmade shops, and postcard stores—so cute everywhere. We wandered around without rushing.
For lunch, we went to Lau Pa Sat, a downtown hawker center famous for Satay Street. They have everything from Indian food to noodles and bak kut teh. We ordered a mixed satay platter with pork, beef, and chicken. The grilled aroma was irresistible, and the peanut sauce was rich and delicious—so good we felt like dancing while eating.
In the evening, we went to Marina Bay Sands to take photos with the city skyline, the boat, and the lights like first-time tourists (yes, we were excited). We ended the day watching the free light and sound show at Gardens by the Bay’s Super Tree Grove. The lights were stunning, and the music made us feel like we were in a sci-fi movie.

Day 3: Orchard – Haji Lane – Food Galore
Today we headed to Orchard Road to explore stylish malls like ION, Paragon, and Takashimaya. We weren’t there to shop much but enjoyed the cool air conditioning and great photo spots. We also stopped for xiao long bao at Din Tai Fung—those juicy soup dumplings were unbelievably good.
In the afternoon, we moved to Haji Lane, a paradise for photo lovers. There are trendy clothing stores, small cafes, perfume shops, and craft stores. The graffiti walls are dazzling, and we took so many photos our camera shutters almost overheated.
For dinner, craving something spicy, we returned to Old Airport Road Food Centre. We had Char Kway Teow (Singapore-style stir-fried noodles) and Oyster Omelette. The oysters were plentiful, crispy outside, tender inside, and the dipping sauce was heavenly. Honestly, we were so full we had to sit down and rest.
⸻
Day 4: A Light Morning Before Flying Home
On the last day, we woke up early to stroll around Little India and buy souvenirs. Then we had Kaya Toast with soft-boiled eggs drizzled with soy sauce—simple but classic and delicious. A strong cup of coffee finished it off perfectly.
Before heading to Changi Airport, we had time to stop by Jewel for some light shopping and photos with the indoor waterfall (Rain Vortex). Then we went to the airport in a great mood, carrying souvenirs, snacks, and a heart full of happiness.

Summary from a friend’s perspective
Singapore may be a small country, but it has everything—tourist spots, photo ops, cafes, and most importantly… delicious food every meal! If you like easy, safe walking trips without too much hassle but want great food and lots of photo opportunities, we wholeheartedly recommend Singapore.
Little Tips:
• MRT is your best friend—frequent, affordable, and easy to use.
• Bring good shoes because you’ll walk a lot (like, a lot).
• Don’t be afraid of hawker food—it’s amazing!
• Carry some cash because some small shops don’t accept cards yet.
⸻
If you’re hesitating about going, just go! Singapore isn’t as expensive as you think (unless you shop like we did). When you come back, you’ll realize, “Just the food alone was totally worth it, friends!”
