[Singapore] Enjoy the Streets of Various Countries in One Day

Singapore is known as a multicultural nation where various cultures blend together. Because of this, you can enjoy the atmosphere of different countries within this small nation. Today, we’ll introduce a day spent in such a Singapore!

① Arab Street (Photos 1-4)
As the name suggests, this is an Islamic area that feels like you’ve wandered into the Middle East. On Arab Street, you can explore the Sultan Mosque, shops selling cute Aladdin-style lamps, and colorful wall art, making it a fun place to explore the city.

You can visit inside the Sultan Mosque, so try to go during the hours when entry is allowed.

Also, a recommended spot in the Islamic area is a street called Haji Lane. It’s a popular spot among young people, lined with colorful, stylish, and cute shops and cafes! It’s such a photogenic area that you could easily spend a few hours here 🙆‍♀️

② Katong District (Photos 5 & 6)
This is another photogenic and colorful area. The houses lined up are stylish and cute, so there’s plenty to see. Pay special attention to the charming tiles on the houses! Try to find your favorite design. It’s easily accessible by bus from major areas in Singapore. There are department stores and cafes nearby, so you can relax and take your time!

③ Little India (Photo 7)
This area has a completely different national atmosphere. As the name suggests, it’s an area where people who migrated from India have gathered, and the atmosphere changes dramatically, making you feel like you’ve crossed a border. You can enjoy strolling around, eating Indian food, and visiting gift shops selling spices and traditional clothing 😉 It’s not very large, so you can enjoy it fully in about an hour.

④ Fort Canning Park (Photo 8)
This is an urban park located near the city center. The grounds are quite large, and many people were having picnics. It’s on a hill, and some stairs can be a bit challenging, but it’s a green and healing place. When I visited, it was closed to the public, but there is a famous photogenic spot called the Fort Canning Tree Tunnel. Looking up from the spiral staircase, the round ceiling is covered with greenery!

Also, as shown in photo 8, there is a Balinese-style area called the Sun Nirah Utama Garden. You can enjoy a different exotic atmosphere there as well.

Experience the feeling of visiting multiple countries all within Singapore~
