Strolling around Chinatown, Singapore

This trip started with a stop in Malaysia, and the next day we traveled into Singapore by crossing over from the Malaysian side by car, or you can choose to take the train as well. It’s convenient and easy, perfect for those wanting to try something new. This trip involved a lot of walking, so we recommend finding comfortable and very friendly walking shoes when visiting this country.
Our plan focused on tourist spots, including:
📍Buddha Tooth Relic Temple
Starting off by taking the MRT to Chinatown station to visit this famous temple in the city center. It’s a large, beautiful 5-story temple with distinctive Chinese architecture in red and gold, perfect for photos from every angle.
The upper floor has a garden and prayer wheels to spin for blessings. The atmosphere is peaceful, ideal for starting the trip.
📍Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice
Next, we refueled at the legendary chicken rice stall located in Maxwell Food Centre. The rice is fragrant, and the chicken is tender and juicy.
We recommend going just before noon when it’s less crowded, making it easier to find a seat and the line moves quickly so you can eat in no time.
📍Marina Bay Sands
Stopped by to enjoy bubble tea at Heytea, a famous Singaporean brand inside Marina Bay Sands Plaza, then walked out near the Apple Store.
The view here is a highlight! You get a panoramic view of Marina Bay, and every photo angle is stunning.
📍Funan Mall
Next, we headed to Funan Mall. Tech lovers and café fans will really enjoy this place because it has gadget stores, Pop Mart, cafés, and a rooftop garden. It’s a spot that gently tempts you to spend.
📍Old Hill Street Police Station
A short walk from the mall brings you to the iconic rainbow-colored building. Highly recommended to stop and take photos! It’s another landmark that content creators will love and shouldn’t miss.
📍Walking route to Merlion Park
On the way from the rainbow building to Merlion Park, you’ll pass beautiful European-style buildings such as:
• Central Fire Station (classic red and white building)
• Parliament House
• Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall
This street is pleasant to walk with shady trees, perfect for taking photos, giving a slight European vibe. Street photography fans can’t miss this.
📍Merlion Park
A must-check-in landmark! Cross the bridge and you’ll find the famous water-spouting lion statue. The view here is stunning, especially in the evening (~5:00 PM) with soft sunlight and cool breeze. You can capture Marina Bay perfectly all in one spot.
📍Gardens by the Bay
After plenty of photos, we continued to Gardens by the Bay to watch the Supertree light and sound show in the evening (the show starts around 7:30 PM).
We recommend arriving early to have time to stroll around the garden and secure good seats.
📍East Coast Lagoon Food Village
Ended the dinner with local food at East Coast Lagoon Food Village, an open-air food court near the sea with a nice, relaxing atmosphere. We arrived around 9 PM, and it was still lively. The food variety is great, delicious, and reasonably priced—perfect for wrapping up the first day of the trip.
📍Jewel Changi Airport
Since our flight was in the morning, we had to head to the airport early. We woke up early and went straight to Jewel Changi Airport to see the Rain Vortex, the world’s largest indoor waterfall.
Going in the morning means fewer people, so you can take clear photos and enjoy the natural vibe right in the heart of the airport before checking in for the flight back to Thailand.

✨ Overall trip:
Just 2 days and 1 night to cover all the famous landmarks, delicious food, great views, and amazing photo spots. Perfect for travelers with limited time who want to make the most of their trip!
**For those preparing, we recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes because there will be a lot of walkingkkkkkkk
