St Andrew's Cathedral, Singapore

- This church was designed by Colonel Ronald MacPherson, who was the chief engineer and director of the Public Works Department in 1856. This English Gothic-style church was built to replace the old church that was destroyed by lightning strikes twice in 1852.
- A group of Scottish merchants initially funded the construction of this church. Because of this, the church was named after the patron saint and protector of Scotland (Saint Andrew). Skilled Indian convict laborers also contributed to the construction of this church.
- The church and its surrounding area, which were designated as a national monument in 1973, contain many memorials and dedications to important individuals.
