🍽️ Kopitiam @ NUH – Functional Eats in a Hospital Setting

Had a quick lunch at the Kopitiam inside NUH’s main building and it was surprisingly decent for what you’d expect from a hospital food court. I went with the mixed veggie rice — brown rice with tofu, tempeh, and some stir-fried vegetables. The tempeh had a good kick of spice, and the veggies weren’t overcooked. Simple, nothing fancy, but it felt clean and nourishing.

Prices are around $5 to $6 depending on your picks. Not super cheap, but it’s fair considering the location. They’re clearly trying to keep things on the healthier side, which is nice in a hospital setting.

Place was busy but efficient. I didn’t have to wait too long, and staff were quick to serve. Seating was clean and spacious, and despite the lunch crowd, it didn’t feel overly packed or chaotic. Definitely better than I expected in terms of atmosphere — more like a standard mall food court than a hospital canteen.

What I appreciated was the range of healthier options, especially for plant-based eaters. And if you use their app (instead of the old Kopitiam card), you get some small discounts too.

Would I make a trip just to eat here? Probably not. But if you’re in or around NUH, it’s a solid and reliable option to get a warm, balanced meal.
