Peijiazhuang Village, located in Xicun Township, Xiuwu County, Henan Province, adjacent to the Qinglong Gorge Scenic Area, is a typical stone village. For nearly a century, none of the dozens of families living here have divorced, earning it the nickname "The Love Village of China." The houses are all built with stone walls and slab roofs, and the stone pavements, tables, benches, millstones, and mortars all demonstrate the full value of stone here.
In this small valley, more than a dozen residential courtyards are built with a casual and convenient touch, adhering to feng shui. The houses follow the terrain, staggered in height, sheltered from wind and rain, and display a primitive and simple architectural style. Most of the stone houses here are over a century old, with the earliest one built during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, a period of 300 years ago.
The oldest elm tree here is over 1,800 years old, with a chest circumference of over 4.5 meters . The elm tree is also a symbol of love. Locals and tourists from afar tie red ribbons on the tree, hoping for a happy and lasting love.
