Singapore City Walk: Marina Bay Magic & Merlion Moments 🌆🦁
Ready to soak up city vibes and outdoor culture in sunny (or sometimes drizzly!) Singapore? My trip hit the highlights with a stroll from Merlion Park to the legendary Marina Bay Sands – and I picked up some handy tips along the way.
Top Spots to Visit:
🦁 Merlion Park (1 Fullerton Rd, Singapore 049213, open 24/7): This iconic spot is a must for first-timers. Snap the classic photo with the Merlion spraying water against a backdrop of modern skyscrapers. Go during the day for brilliant blue skies or try early morning for fewer crowds. Tip: If it’s rainy, nearby cafes offer shelter and great city views.
🏨 Marina Bay Sands Singapore (10 Bayfront Avenue): Home of the infinity pool with jaw-dropping skyline vistas! Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, explore the shops or grab a bite at one of the many on-site restaurants. At sunset, the rooftop pool is unbeatable—you’ll see the city come alive.
Personal travel tip: The area is super walkable, but bring a small umbrella just in case (Singapore weather loves a surprise shower). And if you're staying at Marina Bay Sands, be sure to check out their restaurant choices—you can easily spend hours sampling local and international flavors.
Food recommendations: Try hawker food at Satay by the Bay for Singapore classics, or indulge in the high-end buffets right inside Marina Bay Sands!
Getting around: Singapore’s MRT and city buses are fast, clean, and easy to use (grab an EZ-Link card at any station). Walking from Merlion Park to Marina Bay Sands takes about 15–20 minutes along scenic riverside paths.
Destination tips: No visa needed for short stays for most nationalities. Money can be changed at city malls with good rates. Weather is hot and humid, so lightweight clothes are a win.
