May Day Escape | Enjoy the Mountains and Rivers of Tongren Grand Canyon in a Relaxing Day

My first stop to escape 996 was a place that wasn't crowded, had beautiful scenery, few people, and could be emptied with one click - Tongren Grand Canyon.
I departed from Hengyang on the evening of April 30, made a short stay in Huaihua, and rushed into the embrace of nature on the morning of May 1, giving my body and mind a vacation!

• Transfer: Stay overnight near the Huaihua Expressway exit
• Destination: Arrive at Tongren Grand Canyon at 10 am on May 1

Travel Advice & Tips

Parking: Free parking at the scenic spot! But be sure to arrive early, otherwise parking spaces will be tight!

Sightseeing bus: There is a mountain road from the visitor center to the entrance of the Grand Canyon. It is recommended to take the sightseeing bus (don't try to walk, it's really far)

Ticket price reference:
• Ticket package: CNY 200/person (Grand Canyon + Natural Bridge)
• Buy separately: CNY 110/scenic spot
• Glass boat: CNY 55/boat (CNY 30 for adults, CNY 25 for children). Although it is only 400m, it is good for taking pictures and the experience is good.

Avoidance Guide | Be sure to collect
• When taking a boat at the Natural Bridge scenic spot, be sure to sit on the side! You can hardly see any scenery in the middle
• There are really few toilets, so control your water intake in the mountains
• Dining suggestions: There are snack stalls at the entrance, a small shop in the middle of the scenic spot, and almost nothing else! Be sure to prepare dry food!

• The waterfall area is very photogenic, with a built-in filter feel
• The colorfully sprayed check-in point is especially suitable for taking portraits, with a full sense of atmosphere

Overall experience
• Beautiful scenery, strong sense of mountain and water healing
• Most of the journey is a gentle slope, which is friendly to the knees and suitable for bringing the elderly or overweight friends
• It costs CNY 110/person for an hour to take a boat at Tian Sheng Bridge, which is a bit expensive but worth it
• The cost for a day is not high, and the price/performance ratio is OK, which is especially suitable for office workers to take a breath
