Iceland Attraction Recommendation | Urriðafoss Trout Waterfall, the first waterfall in Iceland in terms of average water volume

Start your day at Urriðafoss Trout Waterfall. This waterfall has the highest average water volume in Iceland and ranks second in Europe! The first place is the Rheinfall in Switzerland. This waterfall can be arranged as one of Iceland's tourist attractions.

There are very few tourists here, and few people come here. If you want to take pictures of waterfalls in Iceland and want to avoid the crowds, it is highly recommended to come here!

There is a reason why it is called Trout Falls. This waterfall is the lower reaches of the Shorso River Þjórsá (the longest river in Iceland). The Shorso River Þjórsá is a place rich in trout. Every summer, people will go fishing for trout here. The waterfall was opened to fishing with fishing rods in 2017.

The attraction I visited a few days ago (stokkseyri beach view) mentioned the Þjórsárhraun volcano. The Shorso River Þjórsá flows down along the lava left by the Þjórsárhraun volcano, and the Trout Falls appeared. And you can see traces of lava along the way at stokkseyri beach
