[France/Strasbourg] The towering symbol of the city: Notre Dame Cathedral

#OverseasSeasonalPlaces #Strasbourg

In December, I visited Strasbourg for the Christmas market. I was curious about the majestic cathedral towering over the market, so I went there!

I was right to go◎It has an overwhelming scale and a strong presence! I will introduce the symbol of Strasbourg, Notre-Dame Cathedral◎

I just dropped in aimlessly, but I was overwhelmed by the precise design of the exterior walls and the high ceilings inside, and it is a building that is the epitome of Gothic architecture!

Large tapestries are hanging in a row facing the central chapel. The windows that let in bright light are stained glass, and the scale of the windows is also amazing! !

The pipe organ installed on the ceiling is a cute cocoon shape◆ using colors that evoke Alsace culture.
The astronomical clock, which is one of the largest in the world, is also a highlight◎

The exterior walls of the building look red, but this is because they are made of red stone called "rosy sandstone" from the Vosges Mountains.
