Church of Saint Philip of NeriIglesia de San
Location: WPXQ+WJR, Nicolas Ortiz 165, Sucre
The main square, Plaza de Mayo 25, is about 200m southwest of the building. There is a quiet entrance on the right.
💰Price per person: 17 Bob
🕰️Opening hours: Mon-Sat: 14:30-17:30
In the morning, this building is still used as a private girls' school, so you cannot enter, and it is only open to the public in the afternoon except on Sundays.
The courtyard and the church are beautiful, but the best thing here is the rooftop. You can actually climb up onto the roof of the church. The roof of the church is not flat, but wavy, and there are several bells. You can see the white city of Sucre, which makes you think you are in Europe. This is the only place in Bolivia where you can see such a view.
It's nice to go up to the cathedral opposite, but this place is a little higher and you can see the beautiful clock tower of the cathedral, so I thought this was better.
I didn't have high expectations, but it turned out to be one of the top three places to visit in Sucre, so I definitely recommend it.
There are also tours in Spanish, and the guide explained a little in English during the free time.
It's only open for a short time, but it's in the center of Sucre, so it doesn't take long, so please go. I'm sure you'll be satisfied.
