Suizhou Day Trip: Exploring the Hometown of Emperor Yan and Discovering a Charming Little City

Although I only visited the Yandi Hometown Scenic Area in Suizhou today due to time constraints, it was a rewarding experience, and I couldn't resist sharing it with everyone!

1. Millennial Legends and Cultural Origins

Suizhou was once the fief of the State of Sui during the Spring and Autumn Period, and many moving stories have been passed down here. Among them, the "Pearl of Suihou" is as famous as the "Jade of He," and its reputation is well-known. Legend has it that when Suihou went out, he saved a spiritual snake, which later repaid him with a pearl. This is the origin of the Pearl of Suihou, which is full of fantasy.

Tracing back to the more distant prehistoric era, Shennong Yandi lived here and left the classic legend of "Shennong Tasting Hundreds of Herbs." There are different opinions in the academic circle about the residence of the Yandi tribe, and Suizhou, Baoji, Zhecheng and other places are considered possible locations. Combining the frequent migration of tribes in ancient times, perhaps the Yandi tribe left traces in these places.

2. Visiting the Hometown of Emperor Yan

The Hometown of Emperor Yan is located in Sui County, Suizhou City. The transportation is quite convenient. You can take bus No. 10 from the railway station and transfer to bus No. 3 to reach the scenic spot directly.

The entire scenic area covers a large area, but it is a bit empty. Some people think it is "skillful but not well-made," while others think it is "large but useless." However, the majestic Shennong Hall and Square are simple and grand, and extremely shocking. There is also a huge lake in the scenic area. Even in the hot summer, walking along the lake, with the breeze blowing, is especially cool and pleasant.

3. Suizhou Cuisine

The commodity prices in Suizhou are surprisingly low! In the central urban area, watermelon costs only CNY 1 per 500g, and the prices of other fruits are also very affordable.

When it comes to food, you must try Xiangyang beef noodles/rice! A large bowl of beef noodles, a large bowl of soy milk, and a large bowl of rice, plus a free egg, only costs CNY 20! The portion is super large, and the taste is amazing, making it super cost-effective.

4. Heart-warming Trip

This trip to Suizhou was short but very pleasant. Along the way, whether it was the enthusiastic driver, the patient scenic spot staff, or the kind restaurant owner and street vendors, they were all very kind. The whole travel process went smoothly without any unpleasantness, and the experience was directly enhanced! If you want to find a place to relax, Suizhou is definitely a treasure city worth visiting!
