The birthplace of the ancestor of Chinese civilization—Suizhou, the hometown of Shennong

The Yan Emperor Shennong Hometown Scenic Area gathers numerous cultural and natural landscapes, including Shennong Archway, Shennong Cultural Square, and the Yan Emperor Shennong Memorial Hall, among more than twenty other attractions. The area is characterized by its rolling mountains, intersecting ravines, lush trees, pleasant scenery, fresh air, and comfortable climate, presenting a magnificent and grand natural picture.

The scenic area has developed a new tourism model that integrates leisure vacation, sightseeing, and ancestral worship. This includes the Yan Emperor cultural root-seeking tour centered around the Yan Emperor Shennong Cave and Jiulong Mountain Scenic Area, and the Tang and Qing cultural exploration tour focused on Wanfa Temple and the Dragon and Phoenix Sun and Moon Flagpole.

Every year on the 26th day of the fourth lunar month, which is the birthday of the Yan Emperor Shennong, thousands of descendants of Yan and Huang come to Lieshan to pay homage to the Yan Emperor Shennong, commemorate the ancestor of Chinese civilization, and celebrate this grand festival. As a result, Lieshan has become a sacred place for descendants of Yan and Huang from home and abroad to seek their roots and pay respects to their ancestors, and the hometown of the Yan Emperor Shennong has also become an important base for studying Yan and Huang culture.
