#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck Wat Sra Sri (Sukhothai Historical Park)
An ancient site in the heart of Sukhothai City, Sukhothai Historical Park is a stunning temple, situated amidst a large pond.
Wat Sra Sri is located northwest of Wat Mahathat. It is an important historical site situated on a large island in the middle of the water called "Traphang Trakuan." It also boasts some of the most beautiful views. Highlights of this temple include the main Sri Lankan-style chedi. In front of the large viharn (ordination hall), a stucco Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture is enshrined. A smaller chedi, in a blend of Srivijaya and Sri Lankan styles, is located to the south. It features niches depicting Buddha images in all four directions. A small island in front houses the ubosot (ordination hall). This symbolizes Buddhist belief in the use of water as a symbol of purity, marking a boundary for monks to perform religious rites, known as the Nathi Sima.
