Sometimes, all you need is a quick getaway to recharge. Just 40–60 minutes away from Bandung, the small town of Sumedang makes the perfect option for a one-day short trip. Here’s how I spent my day exploring this hidden gem not too far from home. 🌿
I started my morning around 8:00 AM from Bandung and headed straight to Putri River Inn. Surrounded by nature, this spot is a great place to relax and let the kids splash around in the fresh river water. We chose a cozy saung (traditional hut) to settle in, enjoy the breeze, and have some local food while soaking up the calm atmosphere.
After lunch, it was time for a little adventure at Toga Hill. The area is perfect for a leisurely walk, snapping beautiful photos, and if you’re feeling a bit daring—trying out paragliding! 🪂 The view from above is simply breathtaking, and even if you’re not into extreme activities, just being there already feels rewarding.
As evening rolled in, we made our way to Sumedang’s city center for a must-try: Tahu Sumedang Palasari. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, it’s the kind of local delicacy you just can’t skip. While we were there, we also picked up some oleh-oleh (souvenirs) to bring home.
By the end of the day, it felt amazing how much you can experience in just one short trip. Sumedang might be small, but it’s packed with charm, nature, and flavors that make it worth the ride.
So if you’re looking for a quick break without going too far, a one-day escape to Sumedang is always a good idea. 💚
