Surabaya: A Magical Treasure Journey in Eastern Indonesia, Unlocking Unique Charm.

Surabaya, this Indonesian city is like a gem carved by time, shining brightly under the eastern sun, waiting for brave travelers to explore its endless mysteries.

Transportation:

• Air: You can take an international flight from your home country to a major airport in Indonesia and then transfer to Juanda International Airport in Surabaya. The airport offers taxis and buses to the city center.

• City Transportation: Surabaya has a relatively developed public transportation system, including buses and three-wheeled pedicabs (Becak). For more freedom in your itinerary, you can choose to rent a car or use ride-hailing apps.

Attractions:

• Surabaya Zoo: Home to a rich variety of animals, it’s a great place for family trips. You can see rare native Indonesian animals, such as the Komodo dragon.

• Heroes Monument: One of Surabaya’s iconic landmarks, symbolizing the city’s history and glory, solemn and dignified.

• Suramadu Bridge: This is a sea-crossing bridge connecting Surabaya and Madura Island. Walking on the bridge, you can enjoy beautiful sea views.

• Surabaya Volcanoes: These are magnificent natural wonders, with various hiking routes available around Mount Bromo.

The usual route starts from the village at the foot of Mount Bromo, where you take a jeep across the sea of sand to a parking area near the crater, then hike or ride a horse up the mountain, suitable for most visitors.

For those with some hiking experience, there is also a trekking route starting from the other side of Mount Bromo, crossing the crater and surrounding mountains to reach another village. Although more challenging, it offers more volcanic scenery. Mount Ijen is also not to be missed. The standard route starts from the entrance of Mount Ijen, hiking along the crater rim to admire the volcanic lake and the magical blue flames. However, the path along the crater rim is narrow, so safety should be a priority.

For visitors with higher hiking experience and stamina, there is an option to start hiking from the base of Mount Ijen, climb to the crater’s top, and then trek along the crater rim. This is a test of physical strength and endurance.
