Cozy coffee in Surabaya woody vibes

Calibre Coffee Roasters was one of the first cafes located right in the city centre of Surabaya that I tried out.
Tucked into a revamped heritage house, it blends old-world charm with a minimalist, slightly industrial aesthetic that’s both stylish and inviting.
Walking into the cafe feels a bit like stepping into a thoughtfully curated hideaway—quiet, moody, and effortlessly cool. The space balances modern minimalism with the warmth of an old house, where raw concrete walls and dark wood details create a calm, grounded atmosphere.
There’s a certain stillness to it that makes you slow down, whether you're alone with a book or meeting a friend. Natural light filters in through big windows, soft jazz hums in the background, and there’s this sense that time moves differently here—unhurried, almost meditative.
It’s the kind of place that invites you to linger, not just for the coffee, but for the feeling of being gently tucked away from the world.
