For Shanghai people, it is common to go to Suzhou for a weekend visit. Sometimes when I feel like it, I drive directly 🚗 just to eat a bowl of authentic Suzhou-style noodles with toppings!
There are also many ancient towns in Suzhou, which are very suitable for short weekend trips. With small bridges, flowing water and houses, the ancient town of Li'li in spring is quiet and comfortable, perfect for relaxing and daydreaming.
It took more than an hour's drive from Shanghai to reach Li'li Ancient Town in Wujiang. The scenic area is not big, but very exquisite.

Walk through the lobby and out the side door to the coffee shop☕️, order a cup of coffee or tea, plus a dessert🍮, sit in front of the window and look at the green outside the window👀, and enjoy the fishing boats coming and going on the river. This is how you spend an afternoon!
There is also a lawn and swimming pool behind the cafe. It is open in summer and the children love playing on the lawn!
FOOD
When you are tired of playing, you can eat. The food here is very rich. Fresh spring bamboo shoots and chewy river shrimps are the favorites of Strawberry 🍓, who ate half a basin of shrimps by himself. The delicious fried eel shreds and braised pork and vegetable rice are also very delicious! For breakfast, there are fried eggs 🍳 and millet pumpkin porridge. I highly recommend the red soup noodles for breakfast, which are cooked with eel soup and are very delicious. Children 🧒 especially love it.

Lili Ancient Town is just outside the B&B. The scenery is very beautiful. Taking photos in ancient costumes 📷 is very photogenic! There are all kinds of delicious snacks in the ancient town, including local specialties such as fried dumplings and sugar cakes, as well as Asu pickled chicken feet. You won’t want to stop eating them. If you are tired of shopping, you can take a boat ride on the river 🚤, which is very comfortable! Of course, Lili Ancient Town is also beautiful at night! It’s just that the businesses here close relatively early, so I still feel a little bit unsatisfied.
