Suzhou Pingjiang Road/Qilishantang

We stepped onto Pingjiang Road as the afternoon light fell soft on the stone path, the narrow canal beside us moving slow and clear 🌞🛶🏞️. The houses leaned close together, white walls and dark wooden frames holding the quiet weight of old Suzhou 🏘️🌿. Willows hung low over the water, their leaves just brushing the surface whenever the breeze passed 🍃🌬️.
We wandered past teahouses, bookstores, and tiny cafes tucked behind carved wooden doors 🍵📚☕. A woman played the guzheng in a shaded courtyard, each note floating gently like ripples on the canal 🎶🎐. Occasionally, a boat glided by, its oar stirring the water in slow, even strokes 🚣♀️💧. Pingjiang Road didn’t feel preserved it felt alive, the same water flowing, the same stones underfoot, the same sense that time here walks at its own pace ⏳🕊️🏮.
