If you don't go now, you will miss this year's Suzhou Lotus Market

I went to Suzhou just for a bouquet of flowers, and found my own romance in an ordinary day.

🌸 Location: Intersection of Baita West Road and Pishi Street, Gusu District (Agricultural Products Distributorship Point). Navigate to "Baita West Road - Agricultural Products Self-Production and Self-Sales Distributorship Point."

⏳ Visiting Time:

Opens at 6:00 AM, while flowers are sold out. Arrive before 7:00 AM to get the first flowers. There may be a small restock around 5:00 PM.

🚇 Getting There

• High-speed Rail + Subway: Take the high-speed rail to Suzhou Station. After getting off the high-speed rail, take Metro Line 4, Exit 3. Walk to Baita Lotus Market, about 10-15 minutes.

• Driving: If driving, navigate to the Dongwu Parking Lot at 1544 Renmin Road for two hours of free parking. (Parking around the market is difficult, so we recommend taking the subway or a taxi.)

• Alternatively: Take Metro Line 4, Beisita Station, Exit 1/4, and walk 800 meters.

🛒 Must-buy Recommendations

• Lotus: 10 yuan/5 stems (mostly in bud, wrapped in lotus leaves to prevent damage).

• Lotus pods: 10 yuan/5 small, 10 yuan/3 large; freshly peeled lotus seeds for a sweet taste (15 yuan/portion).

• Rare variety: Dongshan "Jade Butterfly Lotus" (creamy white to pink petals, blooms for 7 days).

📸 Photo Guide:

At the market, you can capture close-ups of dewdrops on lotus petals. After purchasing flowers, walk to Pingjiang Road and the Humble Administrator's Garden for stunning, ancient-style photos against the backdrop of white walls and black tiles. (More photos!)

✅ Directions: Lotus Market → Humble Administrator's Garden (opens at 7:30 AM for fewer crowds) → Morning tea on Pingjiang Road, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Suzhou's early morning.

📝 Tips:

• Bring cash (some stalls only accept cash).

• Wear non-slip shoes (the cobblestone streets can be slippery in the early morning).

• Avoid touching the bouquets and shop politely.

This summer, visit the Suzhou Lotus Market and take home a dose of romance and the flavors of midsummer.
