Just a 30-minute train ride from Shanghai, Suzhou is home to several famous World Heritage-listed gardens. Gardens are usually open from 7:30 AM to 5 PM, and are closed after dusk. However, during the summer, several gardens offer special nighttime viewings! These gardens are specially lit up, creating a completely different atmosphere for you to stroll through. Summer is especially hot, so it's great to be able to take a leisurely stroll in the cool air after the sun has set! There are fewer tourists than during the day, allowing you to explore at your own pace. Some gardens also offer traditional performing arts performances in the evening, so why not explore the various options at night?
