Pudu Bridge, located in Dashan Village, Xiaba Township, Wudang District, Guiyang City, was built in 1783 , the 48th year of the Qianlong Emperor's reign in the Qing Dynasty. It is a single-arch bluestone bridge connecting the ancient post road, which was the main route from Guiyang to Kaiyang, Longli, and other places. The bridge boasts a long history, a sturdy structure, a unique shape, and exquisite craftsmanship.
The bridge is 24 meters long , 7 meters wide, with a clear span of 20 meters and a height of 17 meters. The tops of the 18 guardrail posts on both sides of the bridge are carved with ornaments of various shapes, including nine groups of symmetrical stone carvings: conch, official hat, lotus seat, stone drum, longevity peach, monkey head, pumpkin, top and geometric body, symbolizing longevity, happiness, many children and blessings, and promotion to official positions.
There are four stone tablets at the north end of the bridge. Three of them contain explanations and lists of donations for bridge repair in February of the second year of the Xuantong reign, and one is a tablet celebrating the completion of Pudu Bridge, with 13 poems on it .
