Lion Grove Garden is one of Suzhou's four famous gardens, a World Heritage Site that harmonizes Yuan Dynasty architecture with natural scenery. A must-do experience is exploring the 400-year-old traditional seagull-shaped stone maze, starting from the right entrance and weaving across the ridges, creating a mystical experience where "the path appears when it's not visible."
Attractions include Yanyidang (appreciate renowned calligraphy and wood carvings), Jibokheon (traditional style with a 700-year-old white incense tree), and Chumi Pavilion (a panoramic view decorated with plum blossom motifs). Transportation: A convenient package tour with a Korean-speaking guide from Shanghai Pudong Airport is available. It's a 5-minute walk from Suzhou City Subway Line 4 Beistar Station.
Best time to visit: Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) are mild, with a plum blossom festival in spring and a chrysanthemum exhibition in autumn. Food: Try grilled trout and pickled crab (chuihai) at the Subangcai Restaurant in front of the east gate of Lion Forest.
This place, where nature and history coexist, is a must-visit destination where you can experience the pinnacle of Chinese garden art.
