Suzhou's Unstoppable Autumn Romance of Persimmons

In the golden autumn season, Xishan Island in Taihu Lake, Suzhou, welcomes an unstoppable romance of persimmons. In front of houses, behind homes, and in the fields, persimmon trees are laden with golden or bright red fruits, symbolizing "a bright future (persimmon) and everything going smoothly (persimmon by persimmon)." The ripe persimmons, like red lanterns, brighten the eaves and walls, weaving a splendid autumn scene. Villagers are busy yet joyful, unable to hide their happiness from the harvest. Xishan Island is the largest island in Taihu Lake, featuring the misty lake views, Piaomiao Peak—the highest of Taihu’s seventy-two peaks—ancient villages, caves, and other unique attractions. The Taihu Bridge, like a necklace, connects the mainland and the island, itself a scenic sight. It is recommended to spend at least two days here: on the first day, visit the Linwudong Cave on the east route and its surroundings, then stay overnight on the north side of Shigong Mountain or in the ancient village of Mingyue Bay; on the second day, explore the west route including Piaomiao Peak and other sites. Visitors can enjoy the "Three Whites of Taihu," Taihu hairy crabs, and other delicacies, while also seeing tea gardens and abundant fruit along the roadsides. Xishan Island offers green products all year round, with the scent of oranges filling the air in autumn. Come to Xishan Island to experience autumn romance, savor local specialties, and appreciate the dual charm of nature and culture!
