Prasat Beng Mealea

This is another of my five favorite temples of the 14 I visited in Angkor. It is a 12th century Hindu temple located next to the canal used to transport sandstone from the quarries of Phnom Kulen to Angkor Wat. The ruins of the canal are still behind the temple. The canal is in a ruined state with just some stabilizing beams added and a boardwalk and stairs for visitors. One of the scenes in Tomb Raider was filmed here too. This is a must-see temple.
