Originally, when we checked out of our family trip, we wanted to invite everyone to go to the Baxianshan National Forest Recreation Area, because the recreation area is only a few kilometers away from the clubhouse where we were staying in Guguan. But in the end, no one wanted to go because we might have to climb a mountain, and we didn’t exercise much, so our family of four had to go by ourselves. It turned out that we came to the right place. In fact, the mountain road was not as easy to climb as we had imagined. Although there were stairs, the altitude was not very high. There was a paddling pool under the amusement area where children could play water games. A little further down there is a large platform. Standing on the platform, you can overlook the mountains in front and the waterfall formed by the sand-blocking bridge. There is a nature education center next to the first parking lot, which also contains some introductions to ecology. If you don’t want to walk up the stairs, you can drive to the second parking lot to save some energy as you will need to climb some stairs later. There are some scenic spots to visit along the way as you go up the stairs. It is very suitable for the whole family to experience and understand the forest ecology near Guguan. Before the end of the year, everyone will have one free entry to any national forest recreation area in Taiwan, so if you are planning to visit these forest recreation areas, you should seize the opportunity.
