Established in 1903, this park has long been an important landmark in Taichung City. It features the iconic Lakeside Pavilion on an artificial lake where visitors can enjoy boating, relocated historical watchtowers from aristocratic residences, elegant pavilions, winding bridges, and other scenic landscapes. The park also includes an open-air music stage and a children's playground. From afar, visitors can see the 2003 Taiwan Lantern Festival's main lantern "Auspicious Goat" - standing 20 meters tall, 18 meters wide, and weighing 10 tons. The design depicts a male goat majestically perched atop Yushan's peak on the front, while the reverse side shows a ewe reclining with a suckling lamb. The Yushan-shaped base even displays the mountain's sunlit and shaded aspects. This masterpiece ingeniously combines lighting effects, natural illumination, and mechanical components. The park also houses statues of Confucius and Sun Yat-sen, as well as an anti-Japanese war memorial. This scenic spot is well worth visiting for relaxation and recreation. Accessible by bus.
