Taichung Central Park is incredibly large—so large that it's almost unbelievable! First-time visitors are often stunned by its sheer scale. The park has everything: grass fields, forests, trails, and plenty of ultra-modern photo spots. It's perfect for walking, cycling, picnicking, or spending an entire afternoon.
One thing to note is that because the park is so vast, walking from one spot to another can be quite far. If you're visiting in summer, make sure to protect yourself from the sun and stay hydrated to avoid heatstroke! Renting a YouBike is highly recommended to make exploring the park much easier. 🚲
🌳 Atmosphere/Facilities:
The park was built on the site of Taichung's old airport, so the layout is long and narrow. Its most distinctive features include the white "Ke-Nan Aegean Bridge" and the "Detective Game Experience Zone" with its rows of white pillars. These structures look stunning when lit up at night, exuding a futuristic vibe that makes every photo look like a sci-fi movie scene.
The park is also great for family activities, with a huge sandpit, terrazzo slides, and a shallow water play area that kids will absolutely love! The park is filled with trees, making the trails very pleasant to walk on. Despite its popularity, the vast space ensures it never feels overcrowded.
🚗 Parking Information:
The park has an underground paid parking lot with an entrance on Dunhua Road Section 2. The rate is 30 NTD per hour, making it the most convenient option. There are also some roadside parking spaces nearby, but they are usually hard to find on weekends.
Inside the park, there's a visitor center where you can enjoy air conditioning, refill your water bottle, and use the restroom. Given the park's size, it's a good idea to check the map beforehand and plan which areas you want to visit (e.g., family zone, photo spots). Wandering aimlessly might leave you lost and exhausted!
🕰️ Opening Hours:
Open 24/7 (outdoor spaces).
