#100 Ways to Travel
The #YanpingPrinceShrine, which worships #ZhengChenggong, has a majestic statue of a man riding on horseback, which symbolizes that the Prince of Yanping guarded the city, so he was called the #KaishanKing. The Kaishan Road next to it was also named after him. Even during the Japanese colonial era, he was worshipped at the Kaishan Shrine, which shows the status of Zheng Chenggong in the hearts of the people.
The Temple of Prince Yanping is a typical Fuzhou-style building with red walls and gray tiles, but it also has some Japanese style. The eight door gods painted on the four doors of the temple are all foreigners with blue eyes and white skin. It is because of gratitude to Zheng Chenggong for driving away the Dutch that the foreigners were allowed to wear Ming Dynasty official robes and continue to guard the temple door for him. It is quite special.
The #Zheng Chenggong Cultural Relics Museum next to it houses many precious historical relics. It was later changed to the #Tainan City Museum at the end of 2023. The collection display content is richer, and it is also a good place to learn about Tainan's history and culture.
