Tainan is a city where you can step on history when you walk, and the "Yenping County Prince Temple" is the corner of memory that has been carefully preserved.
If Chihkan Tower and Anping Fort are the scenes of history, then the Yanping County Prince Temple is the footnote left by Taiwanese people with respect and remembrance for a period of history.
It is not as lively as tourist attractions, but there is an indescribable solemnity and tranquility here,
which makes people unconsciously lighten their steps, slow down their thoughts, and walk into the breath of history.
🧑🏻🎖️ The story of Zheng Chenggong is remembered from here
The Yanping County Prince Temple was built to commemorate Zheng Chenggong, the "King of Taiwan".
He led his army to recapture Taiwan and drive away the Dutch in 1661, and is a very key figure in Taiwan's history.
It was originally established during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty and has undergone many renovations. The current building was rebuilt during the Japanese colonial period, integrating traditional and Western styles, and is unique.
You will see a tall bronze statue of Zheng Chenggong, holding a sword and looking heroic, as if he is still guarding this land.
In the main hall, Zheng Chenggong's tablet and plaque are enshrined. The dragon and phoenix ridge decorations, wood carvings and couplets on the roof are also detailed and ancient.
This is not only a place of commemoration, but also a symbol of the spirit of "loyalty, protection of hometown, and protection of land" in the hearts of Taiwanese people.
🍃 Walking in the courtyard of the ancient ancestral temple is like walking into a still painting
📸 Must-shoot angle: The main axis composition in front of the bronze statue of Zheng Chenggong, matched with the symmetrical buildings behind, is solemn and majestic
📸 Wooden windows, red doors, carvings and stone lions are all composition treasures in the eyes of photography fans
📸 The old banyan tree in the courtyard casts mottled light and shadows, which is best for framing in the early morning and evening
📸 Specially recommend the "Yanping County Prince Tombstone" and the small garden behind, which has a unique sense of ancient tranquility
The whole ancestral hall is not large, but it has a strong sense of pattern. From the central axis symmetry to the detailed carvings, it reveals the exquisiteness and awe of traditional architecture.

💭 History is not just what happened in the past, but the traces that still exist
In the Yanping Junwang Temple, you feel not only the commemoration of Zheng Chenggong,
but also the Taiwanese people's concern and persistence for the land and beliefs.
Every step we take seems to be quietly guarded by these histories.
If you have been moved by historical stories, you might as well take a walk here,
Let this "loyalty" spirit quietly flow into your heart.
Not every ancestral hall can become a symbol of history, but the Yanping County Prince Temple has done it.
Standing quietly in front of the bronze statue, it feels as if time has slowed down.
History is no longer just words in books, but the banyan tree and red wall you are staring at.
