Fangyuan Art Museum is located in Fuwang, Jiangjun District, Tainan. It is an art museum converted from the former residence of Huang Qingwu, the first mayor of Jiangjun Township. This building is a fusion of Chinese and Western styles, with a Western-style building in the front, a siheyuan in the back and a red-tiled roof atrium surrounded by arched corridors. Flowers, trees and garden landscapes are planted around the house. The museum mainly displays contemporary ceramic artworks. You can also see some daily furnishings from old houses, such as beds, dressing tables, tables and chairs, and some utensils used in the kitchen. I was surprised that there is such a beautiful art gallery in this remote town. Although it may pale in comparison with the grandeur of ordinary art galleries, Fangyuan Art Museum makes people feel like a beautiful girl next door.
