Tainan|Canelé…room for improvement

Iced Americano/Blend $150
Canelé $110

I saw four or five people waiting in line to order food, and since a friend had recommended it, I decided to give it a try. However, due to time constraints, I only ordered takeout.

The first floor's decor is quite photogenic, and the order process was quite fast. When I ordered my coffee, the waiter suddenly said they still had canelé. "Do you want some?" I asked, "Yes, I'll give it a try." There were no prices on the menu, so I asked, and it was $110 each.

The coffee was small, not smooth, and just average. The canelé wasn't very large. The original canelé didn't have a thick, caramelized crust, but a thin, slightly hard outer layer. The bottom wasn't caramelized, and it was completely soft. The inside had a moist, soft texture, with no hint of wine or vanilla. I wasn't particularly fond of the texture and flavor.

The coffee and canelé, well, were overpriced.
