Raohe Night Market is one of Taipei’s oldest and most charming night markets, stretching for about 600 meters along Raohe Street. Famous for its mouthwatering street food, the market’s signature dish is the black pepper bun, a crispy, meat-filled pastry that’s baked in a traditional clay oven. Other must-try treats include beef noodle soup, mochi, grilled squid, and Taiwanese bubble tea. Unlike Shilin, Raohe has a more traditional feel, with a single long street lined with food stalls and small shops selling accessories, souvenirs, and clothing. At the entrance, the beautiful Songshan Ciyou Temple adds to the cultural charm. The market is especially enjoyable for those who love tasting different snacks while taking in the lively night market atmosphere. It’s less overwhelming than larger markets, making it a great place for first-time visitors looking to experience authentic Taiwanese street food.
