An Extraordinary Hiking Trail: Battleship Rock and Danfeng Mountain

Battleship Rock is a ridge at the southernmost end of the Datun Volcano Group. Although it only has an elevation of 192 meters, its unique snow-white giant rock at the summit resembles a battleship towering over the lush green mountains, hence the name Battleship Rock.

The summit offers an unobstructed view, allowing you to see the Datun Volcano Group to the north, the Wuzhi Mountain Range to the east, Guanyin Mountain to the west, and the winding Tamsui and Keelung Rivers cutting through the Taipei Basin to the south. The 360-degree panoramic view is vast and pleasing.

You can continue towards Danfeng Mountain, which also offers beautiful scenery at its summit, with the large characters "Danfeng" prominently displayed on the rock face. Both hiking trails are gentle and easy to walk, but they are crowded on weekends, making it difficult to take photos without people in the frame.

Since Battleship Rock is composed of ancient sedimentary layers, you can observe unique geological formations and special ecosystems along the trail. It is an ordinary-looking trail that is actually quite extraordinary.
