New Beitou Train Station Park: Memories of the Former Train Station

The Beitou Station Museum was originally a wooden train station built during the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan. It was inaugurated in 1916 and reopened after renovations in 2017. This century-old station not only retains its original Japanese wooden architectural features but also fully showcases the development trajectory of Beitou.

The most striking feature inside the museum is the classic DRC1000 diesel passenger car! 🚞 It is parked on the platform for visitors to observe up close. This train once traveled across various parts of Taiwan and now stands quietly here, allowing visitors to glimpse the railway charm of the past. Visitors can step inside the carriage to experience the atmosphere of passengers back in the day and appreciate the design of the old train.

The museum's exhibition area displays a wealth of historical materials on Beitou's transportation development, including old photos, tickets, timetables, and other artifacts, comprehensively recording the evolution from light rail to railway transportation. Through the exhibition, visitors can understand how Beitou developed from a hot spring town into a significant tourist destination.
