Yangmingshan Chung Shan Building - Beitou District, Taipei

The Chung Shan Building is located on Yangmingshan in Beitou, Taipei. Designed by Ms. Hsiu Tse-Lan, it features traditional Chinese palace architecture. The building is open to the public, and through guided tours, visitors can learn about the many design elements related to the number 100. Situated in a bell-shaped volcanic crater, the area has a strong sulfur smell, and there is a sulfur hot spring pool next to the parking lot. Ms. Hsiu Tse-Lan was aware of the potential for sulfur erosion and incorporated anti-corrosion measures into the building's design, ensuring that the Chung Shan Building remains as pristine as ever.
