National Palace Museum

Located about a 10-minute bus ride from MTR Shilin Station, the National Palace Museum houses a vast collection of invaluable artifacts from Chinese civilization. Visitors can admire items ranging from Han dynasty ceramic figurines to jade carvings, as well as ceramics, jade, calligraphy, and paintings spanning from ancient times to the Qing dynasty, including a portrait of Emperor Taizu of the Northern Song dynasty. The museum is particularly famous for its two treasures, the Meat-shaped Stone and the Jadeite Cabbage. However, these items are sometimes loaned to other museums and may not be on display. It is recommended to check the museum's website before your visit to confirm their availability. Unfortunately, during my visit, neither of these treasures was on display, so I was unable to see them.
