#Beijing Normal University Art Museum #Turbulence #Half-asleepFlyingDream

Enjoyable for all ages, highly interactive and entertaining. Those looking to think can reflect, and those looking to take photos will appreciate the exquisite layout.

This is arguably the most moving exhibition I've seen in recent memory.

I highly recommend taking the guided tour; it'll help you truly understand the curator's message.

The space, the aesthetic, the interactivity—every detail is thoughtfully crafted. Even the small exhibit items are designed to look like boarding passes.

It's also a free exhibition, so I'm so lucky to be able to see it.

/Detailed review below/

The airplane fitness equipment made from cash crops, allowing you to fly with just the right amount of energy, is the most interactive exhibit. The exhibition also explores the meaning behind everyday scenes, drawing inspiration from them.

The most memorable part was the curator's sharing: He traveled because he was tired and wanted to escape his daily routine, but he still visited recommended attractions and restaurants on his social media. These seemingly "free" but actually "calculated" contradictions can sometimes be liberated by a little disruption, allowing for a new perspective.

After fulfilling this dream of flight, I also reconsider the invisible constraints and connections within seemingly free globalization. Do we possess the ability to discern and transcend them?

█ Turbulence: A Half-Asleep Dream of Flight #FreeAdmission
THE LIMIT IS THE TURBULENT SKIES

- Exhibition Period: Fri., August 29 - Sun., November 2, 2025
- Hours: Tuesday-Sun., 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Location: Beijing Normal University Art Museum @montue2011

The exhibition revolves around themes and imagery of "sky, flight, aviation, airports, and migration." Transformed into an airport terminal, the exhibition brings together nine artists from South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Through media such as video, sound, sculpture, painting, and documents, they explore, from their own perspectives, how various flight experiences are embodied in individuals, emotions, and memories. They also explore how aviation and technology reshape social landscapes and local cultures, and subtly influence global power structures. This exhibition explores whether the veneer of globalization and freedom is also framed by algorithms.

In addition to the existing artworks, there are four works specifically created for the exhibition theme, further embodying the unpredictable nature of this potentially turbulent journey.
