The Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is one of the most popular attractions for both domestic and international visitors in Taipei. Post-pandemic, the number of visitors has been steadily increasing, from 1.09 million in 2022, to 3.2 million in 2023, and reaching 4.04 million in 2024.
The memorial hall features a blue and white color scheme, with the dome adorned with the twelve rays of the sun from the national flag, symbolizing the main colors and imagery of the flag. While the hall previously carried a strong political image, it has now become a popular leisure destination, especially during January and February when the plum and cherry blossoms in the park are in full bloom, marking a highlight of early spring.
The venue also hosts various cultural and artistic events, such as the internationally renowned "Dîner en Blanc" (White Dinner). In 2023, the Taipei edition of this international event was held on the Democracy Boulevard of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.
In front of the memorial hall are the National Concert Hall and the National Theater. The theater serves as a venue for drama and dance performances, while the concert hall is Taiwan's premier space for musical performances. The plaza in front of these two venues frequently hosts various theatrical and musical events, attracting numerous visitors.
