The movie "艋舺" was filmed here

The Bopiliao Historic District is located at the intersection of Kangding Road, Guangzhou Street, and Kunming Street, just a five-minute walk from Longshan Temple. The district retains a remarkably intact Qing Dynasty streetscape and traditional Qing Dynasty shophouses, bearing witness to the development of Bangka.

Remnants of history can be seen throughout the district, including the designated historic building at No. 123 Guangzhou Street, the residence of the Chinese scholar Zhang Taiyan during his time in Taiwan; the Yongxingting Boat Head Shop; the Song Xiexing Rice Shop; the residence of Dr. Lu Achang; and the Rixiang Hotel.

The restoration of Bopiliao Old Street began in 2003 and was officially opened to the public in 2009. This was due to the release of the film "Bangka," in which Geta's family home was filmed in Bopiliao, bringing this historic area to the public's attention.
