Searching for China's Largest Overseas Chinese Architectural Complex

Meijia Courtyard is located by the Datong River in Ruifen Town, Taishan City. Built in 1931, it covers an area of 80 acres. Due to the large number of overseas Chinese working abroad in the Taishan area at the time, the buildings exhibit strong European characteristics💯. The complex consists of 108 arcade-style buildings, each two to three stories high, arranged neatly around a central plaza, resembling a small city. This layout reflects the affluent lifestyle of the time. The architecture is a blend of Chinese and Western styles, exuding an exotic charm. Despite being nearly 100 years old, the complex still retains its original foreign-inspired appearance.

According to online sources, Meijia Courtyard is currently the most well-preserved overseas Chinese architectural complex in China. It is very convenient to visit, as it takes only about 1.5 hours to drive🚘 from Guangzhou. This destination is highly recommended for a visit. Due to its unique architectural style, many movies have been filmed here, such as "The Knockout📸" and "Let the Bullets Fly." Inside Meijia Courtyard, there are several shops selling dried fruit peels and souvenirs, as well as snack vendors, making it easy for visitors to spend a nostalgic afternoon here. There is also parking available outside the courtyard, and along the way, you can see golden rice fields stretching far and wide.
