Xiaocun Commune Hydrangea | A Real-Life Version of Alice's Wonderland

| A Real-Life Version of Alice's Wonderland. The hydrangeas at Xiaocun Commune had already started to grow last year, but it was too far from Shanghai and the trip never happened. This year, because of the May Day holiday, I went to Kunming to see the jacarandas, and I missed the hydrangea exhibitions at Shangfangshan and Haining. After hearing the news of the blossoms at Xiaocun Commune, I decided to go and 'weed out' the desire.

However, I feel that the hydrangeas at Xiaocun Commune are not as good as last year. They still look pretty in person, but the photos clearly don't have the density of last year's. I tried my best to find good angles.

This year, the Hobbit huts are decorated with lots of hydrangeas on the roof, really resembling the fairy tale world of Alice, and they are super photogenic.

TIPS:
➩Admission is 29.9.
➩On weekends, the park is really crowded. After eight o'clock, it starts to get busy, and after nine, many tour groups arrive. If you want to take good photos, I suggest staying overnight in the park to avoid the crowds.

Recommended photo spots:
➩Trestle:
Last year's photos looked amazing, but this year the flowers are not as good, with fewer buds, so the effect is somewhat diminished. This spot is very popular and when it's crowded, people queue up and the trestle is packed.

➩Hobbit House:
Super fairy-tale-like when paired with hydrangeas, it has two floors, both great for taking photos.

➩Windmill and Surroundings at the Summit:
There's a windmill-shaped photo prop on the summit, with mountains in the background and a sea of hydrangeas in front, which is really beautiful. There are also many unopened hydrangea buds at the top of the mountain.
