Dongqing Tribe Fishing Harbor at Sunrise

On the eastern coast of Lanyu lies my personal favorite spot to greet the morning—Dongqing Tribe Fishing Harbor. Known as one of the earliest places in Taiwan to witness the sunrise, the sky transitions from deep blue to soft orange at dawn, the sea gradually brightens, and the first rays of sunlight rise before your eyes, illuminating the entire island and awakening my slumbering soul.

I arrived at the harbor at 5 a.m., where traditional canoes rested quietly by the shore. The sound of waves, accompanied by the chirping of insects and birds, created a natural morning symphony. Local fishermen were already preparing their tools to head out to sea, showcasing a rhythm of life that reflects the harmonious coexistence between the islanders and the ocean.

There are no tourist crowds here, only the pure essence of light, wind, and sea. If you wish to create a serene and unforgettable memory of dawn in Lanyu, you must visit Dongqing Tribe to experience your own sunrise.
