Yanqiu Garden was built to reproduce the historical story of the Jin Dynasty literary giant Yuan Haowen's "Mo Yuer•Yanqiu Ci". It is designed with magnificent architecture and beautiful landscape, becoming a new landmark in Taiyuan and a popular check-in place. It is a good place for outdoor outings, sports, fitness, and walking‼ ️
The scenic area covers an area of about 5.84 hectares, including the Long Corridor of the Road to the Examination, Haowen Tower, Shuangfei Pavilion, Zhiying Pavilion, Zishan Pavilion, Kuangge Pavilion and other architectural sketches, as well as landscape greening, landscape paving and other ancient buildings imitating the style of the Jin and Yuan Dynasties. Among them, the tallest building is Haowen Tower. The full text of Yuan Haowen's poem "Mo Yuer•Yanqiu Ci" is engraved on the back of the boulder, and the front is a question for the ages - ask the world, what is love, and let people promise to be together in life and death; Yanqiu is buried with wild geese, telling the story of two wild geese who died for their loyalty to each other.
Yuan Haowen (1190-1257), with the courtesy name Yuzhi and the pseudonym Yishan, was born in Xiurong, Taiyuan (now Xinzhou, Shanxi). He was smart since childhood and was known as a "child prodigy". He was good at writing poems, essays, lyrics, and songs. His "Mourning Poems" were particularly famous, and his lyrics were the best in the Jin Dynasty. During the Song, Jin, and Yuan Dynasties, he was the main representative of northern literature and was revered as "the literary master of the generation" and "the literary hero of the north".
