“Morning: soaking in tea. Evening: soaking in water.”
This saying isn’t just for Yangzhou—Taizhou, right next door, is a seriously underrated gem!
Though the city isn’t very big, everything good—food, fun, and culture—is right next to each other. The vibe is chill, the pace is slow, and it’s perfect for a relaxed getaway.
Getting from Nanjing to Taizhou:
High-speed train: ~1.5 hours
By car: ~2 hours
Taizhou 2-Day Itinerary

Side trip to Huangqiao Ancient Town (泰兴黄桥古镇) – quiet old-town feels, local snacks, and traditional streets.
