Tajikistan: The Breathtaking Pamir Plateau

Departure: From Dushanbe, take a shared taxi for about 12 hours to reach the village of Khorog, the gateway to the Pamir Plateau.

A 12-hour shared taxi ride costs approximately 7,000 yen.

I used Khorog as my base for traveling. I visited in late October, which was the off-season, so it was quite difficult to find a shared taxi from Khorog.

This time, I only went as far as a place called Namadgut, but the autumn scenery of the Pamir was absolutely stunning. To enjoy the open views of the Pamir on both the Afghan side and the Tajik side, you need to travel as far as a village called Langar.

I recommend taking your time and traveling at a leisurely pace.
