Takamatsu Cherry Blossom Season

Time: Late February to early March every year (the blooming period varies each year)
Takamatsu is less crowded with tourists, so the cherry blossom season is less crowded and not overwhelming.
Cherry blossom viewing spots include Takamatsu Castle and Ritsurin Garden.
In Tamamo Park of Takamatsu Castle, there is a long row of cherry blossom trees, which are light pink Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms - perfect for a picnic with food.
Ritsurin Garden does not have a large area of cherry blossoms, but it has very large old cherry trees that have been pruned and maintained over the years, giving them a very elegant appearance.
